I Started in TV and now I’m here
Yes, you heard that right. My background is in TV & film. I had the pleasure of breaking the news to my parents halfway through my University degree that I had gone behind their backs to switch my major to Drama (I’m no stranger to tough conversations). While they worried endlessly about me finding paid work (with good reason), I was actually lucky enough to have my dream job for a few years, working in the production office on several productions, TV shows and films.
When I found out that I was unexpectedly pregnant with my first daughter (I live for a surprise), I pivoted to a career in marketing, weaving story & strategy into a social media presence for a group of 6 boutique hotels. This invaluable experience at the forefront of social media for small business over 10 years ago, has made me a historian of the industry, seeing all of its ebbs and flows in real time. In the last decade, while I built my family & my business, I have worked with dozens of other small businesses to establish online relationships with their audience and make the shift to a digital landscape.
